We fix this…Admissions has paperwork for the resident to be admitted that needs to be signed and sent back to the SNF that may or may not ever be actually signed by the family.  This paperwork is passed to Medical Records where it is scanned and uploaded and then new copies of paperwork are printed and started for the resident and put in a folder.  Then Medical Records stores all the paper copies and files them in a remote location.  Medical Records takes a copy of this paperwork, like the bedside rails form,  and passed off to the DON and Nurses Station.  The nurses station will use these documents and add more as the patient stays in the facility.  Documents and paperwork are continually lost throughout this process.  Documents continue until the resident is ready to leave the facility where it is passed to administration where discharge papers are created for the Resident to leave.

We fix this… New hires are a difficult process for HR.  With turnover rates in SNF’s, there are new hire trainings every 2 weeks on average.  There is a lot of paperwork that has to be prepared for the first day of training.  Instead of training, the first day is spent mostly on filing the paperwork instead of receiving time cards and learning the process and documentation for requesting time off.  Task and Document automation would fix this process and free half of HR’s time to do other more important things.  Let us automate the tasks and prepare the documents to go out electronically before the training.
